Jessica Cifuentes Aims to Empower Futures in OKCPS District 3
Oklahoma City, OK – Jessica Cifuentes, a product of Oklahoma City's educational system and a determined advocate for quality education, announces her candidacy for the School Board District 3 seat for Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS).
Raised in Oklahoma City, Jessica's educational journey begins at James Buchanan Elementary School, situated in School Board District 3—the district she aspires to serve. Graduating as valedictorian from ASTEC Middle and High School, she pursued higher education at Emory University, earning a degree in Materials Science Engineering. Presently enrolled in Career Tech, Jessica studies Surgical Technology, aspiring to attend Medical School and fulfill her dream of becoming a surgeon.

Jessica's academic path has been defined by her commitment to volunteerism, leadership, and education, evident through her extensive involvement in extracurricular activities and civic organizations. With firsthand experience of the challenges faced by 90% of Oklahoma City Public School students living at or below the poverty line, and nearly 60% of Hispanic students navigating the educational system, Jessica attributes her success to opportunities within and beyond the classroom.
In her candidacy for the School Board, Jessica pledges to empower students with the opportunities that propelled her success. She seeks to champion policies expanding extracurricular activities and STEM education, addressing the bilingual needs of families, guiding students in planning their future careers, and offering enrichment opportunities to meet the diverse needs of Oklahoma City Public Schools.
